The only thing keeping this hotel from getting 5 stars is the strange layout of the building. From the lobby, you have to go up 6 steps to get to the elevator. And the hotel is so spread out that most rooms are a long walk from the elevator.
My visit was for a business conference. Sessions were held in the ballroom. The ballroom is a nice family, however noise from the adjacent conference rooms could easily be heard through the walls. Further, the latches on the doors to the ballroom are very loud and create a distracting sound whenever someone enters or leaves the room. The chairs are sturdy and really quite comfortable. They feature a hook on the back for hanging your bag and a shelf beneath the seat for books or papers. I was able to get a strong T-Mobile cell signal in the conference rooms, which is rare. Lunches were provided in the poolside dining room. The buffet style service was efficient for our large group and the food was really pretty good. Servers brought beverages to the table, but offered no refills. Overall, I'd recommend Sheraton Minneapolis West for business conferences.
Super comfortable hotel with spacious rooms. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel has a great lobby with lots of seating and computers available to guests.
Very clean Hotel, great location close to a mall, and good restaurants. Not far from downtown Minneapolis and the U of M. Staff was helpful and courteous. One of our rooms was delayed at check-in, and we didn't get our rooms right next to each other like we requested, due to a late check-out by the Gopher Football Team whom uses this hotel the night before their home games. We will definitely stay here again.
We stayed here one night for an in-town anniversary get-away from home/kids. The staff was pleasant, atmosphere was very quiet, open lobby smelled a bit like a pool, but not chlorine-like. The room was nice and clean, though the temp was difficult to control and it got a bit cold. The bedding and towels were old appearing, tattered and slightly stained. Overall, a nice room for a good price.
The rooms were dirty, stains on the bed comforter. The bathroom was the worst. Bath scum in tub, sticker stuck on the inside of the shower curtain. Our towels were brand new, still has the inspected by sticker on them. New towels that aren’t washed do not absorb anything. I informed the front desk and they ensure me our room will be clean for day 2 of our visit. We never got new towels. They took the dirty ones on the floor but forgot the one hanging on the back of the door. Plus never gave us new towels. Also there was barely any toilet paper on the roll when we got here and immediately had to open the new roll. Thank goodness we didn’t stay in the room long. We never even were left a spare roll of toilet paper. The bed and pillows are far from comfortable. Had trouble sleeping both nights. The hallways were loud and you could hear everyone in the hallways. I doubt we would ever stay at another Sheraton hotel again.
